iLawyer®

The iLawyer Network® provides a professional, efficient and cost-effective means of attorney marketing and a trustworthy source for legal information and lawyer referrals.

Meets ABA Standards

The iLawyer Network meets the standards of the American Bar Association and stands alone as the exclusive national source for lawyer referrals on or off the Internet.

We are the only Internet referral source that is not supported by lawyer advertising, and the only Internet service capable of providing local customer service through a network of lawyer referrals services staffed by state and county bar associations.

In order to meet the standards of the American Bar Association, iLawyer's affiliated lawyer referral services screen attorneys for disciplinary records, licensure, insurance and experience. Lawyer referral services also mediate fee disputes and monitor client satisfaction as a way of identifying problem attorneys.

Our Process

Step 1: Specify your geographic location

On the map provided, select the county, state, or region where you need a lawyer.

Step 2: Fill out a brief confidential questionnaire about your legal matter

Briefly describe the reason you'd like to speak with a lawyer.

For your convenience, you may indicate preferred appointment dates and times, wheaher you prefer a telephone or office consultation, the location of the law office, and other needs like wheelchair access or proficiency in languages other than English.

Step 3: A trained Bar Association staff member submits your referral request to pre-screened lawyers

Trained bar association/referral service staff located in the selected region will review the information you provide and choose several prescreened lawyers with appropriate knowledge or experience.

The lawyers selected will review the information you provided and decide whether to meet with you.

Step 4: You receive email notification of your appointment

When a lawyer decides to meet with you, you will receive email notification of the appointment date and time along with biographical information about the lawyer. Normally, you will receive appointment information within one business day, but difficult cases may take longer to schedule.

You may consult with the lawyer in person or by telephone for up to 30 minutes. The lawyer will not charge you for the consultation. You may hire the lawyer for additional services, but you have no obligation to do so.

If you are not satisfied, a consultation with another lawyer will be provided at no charge.
