iLawyer.com has created this statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect about you and what will happen to that information.
Questions regarding this statement should be directed to iLawyer.com at info@iLawyer.com.
When you request a referral to an Attorney, we ask you to provide information about your legal problem. In addition, we request that you provide your name, telephone and email address. Other information, such as mailing address and certain appointment preferences relating to time and place, remain optional. If your legal problem involves a matter other than personal injury, we also ask that you provide billing information, consisting of credit card information and billing address.
This information that you provide is held in the strictest confidence. The information that you provide, except for your payment information, will be reviewed by a Bar Association staff person for purposes of finding an appropriate lawyer for your legal situation. The prospective lawyer will be informed of the legal problem in advance of your appointment in order to be sure that the lawyer is in a position to help you. This lawyer will also see your name in order to avoid conflicts of interest. If that lawyer declines the referral, a second attorney will view your legal description, and so on, until a lawyer accepts the referral. When a lawyer accepts the referral, he or she will also receive your email address and telephone number, and your mailing address if you provided one. Neither the Bar Association staff, nor the prospective lawyers ever view your payment information.
It is iLawyer.com's policy to respect the privacy of its clients. Except as described above, under no circumstances will iLawyer.com disclose information provided by you to any individual, advertiser, vendor, or any other entity without your express written consent.
If you send correspondence to iLawyer.com, such as emails or letters, we may collect such information into a file specific to you. We may use information in the file we maintain about you, and other information we obtain from your current and past use of the service to assess problems or complaints, and the Bar Associations may use this information for purposes of making additional referrals.
To ensure the security and confidentiality of the information you provide to iLawyer.com, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server software. SSL encrypts all information which you provide to us in the course of making a request for a lawyer referral. This technology is used by most web sites to safeguard credit card information and other personal data.
